Open-source remote desktop, EU-operated, no commercial-use surveillance
GoDesk is an open-source remote desktop software published under AGPL-3.0 by UPDEVTEAM LTD, a Cyprus-registered (EU) company. Built as a fork of theRustDesk open-source core, GoDesk adds a hosted relay, signed installers, billing infrastructure, and editorial UX polish on top of the same audited cryptography.
The product targets users frustrated with TeamViewer's and AnyDesk's commercial-use detection, the heuristic systems that flag legitimate personal users as "commercial" and cap their sessions at 5 minutes, then push them onto a $30+/month paid plan. GoDesk's free tier explicitly allows personal AND business use for 30 devices, with all features unlocked, no commercial-use detection, and no session timeouts.
The business model is intentionally lean: no sales team, no VP of CS, no executive layer. The same engineers who write the code answer the email. Operating costs are infrastructure (~€60/month) and occasional advertising. Everything saved on bloated overhead flows back into pricing. That's why GoDesk Pro is $7.99/month while the equivalent TeamViewer plan is ~$50/month for comparable features.
